DescriptionMindfulness is a secular practice that helps reduce stress, improve emotional coping skills, attention and empathy. This is a 6-week online course provided through Mindful Schools. The course begins on June 5 and ends on July 16. Assignments will be available weekly and take about 2-4 hours to complete and daily mindfulness practice is encouraged. During this course participants will practice the fundamental tools to build a personal mindfulness practice that will support them in and outside the classroom. On June 8, we'll have an in person launch workshop. Participants will be introduced to mindfulness and receive assistance in starting an online course. On July 13-14, participants will then move into the importance of bringing mindfulness into schools and how to successfully teach students the practices of physical, mental, emotional, social, and global literacy. This Mindful School’s course is a prerequisite for the Mindful Educator Essentials Course.
