We invite you to join us as we welcome Dr. Melissa Brymer, PhD, a leading national expert, to facilitate an engaging workshop on Psychological First Aid for Schools (PFA-S). PFA-S is an evidence-informed intervention model to assist students, families, school personnel, and school partners in the immediate aftermath of an emergency.
Dr. Melissa Brymer is the Director of Terrorism and Disaster Programs at the UCLA & Duke University National Center for Child Traumatic Stress (NCCTS) and an expert on how children deal with stress following disasters such as school shootings. Dr. Brymer studies how best to offer psychological assistance in the aftermath of disasters and is a co-author of the Psychological First Aid for Schools Field Operations Guide.
Audience: School PFA-S Teams or Individual PFA-S Team Members, Administrators, Counselors, and Mental Health Professionals.
Registration is free!
Travel reimbursement will be offer to all educators (mileage, lodging, etc.).
