This workshop provides information to support young children's learning in the domain of language and literacy.
Objectives
• To Discover Factors that Influence Children’s Literacy Development
• To Examine the Importance of Oral Communication in Literacy Development
• To Explore the Role of the Adult in Language/Literacy Development
• To Discover Effective Techniques for Reading with Children
• To Examine the Role of the Environment in Language/Literacy Development
• To Explore Activities that Strengthen Literacy Development
Paraprofessionals can meet the Rule 11 yearly requirement of 15 hrs. of Early Childhood specified professional development by taking three out of the four of these workshops.
