Description
Ensuring English Learner achievement is a growing priority among educators. This course will address the core pedagogy for supporting English learners. (1) Value what English learners bring to the classroom and foster relationships. (2) Set high expectations for English learners and focus on strengths over deficits. (3) Use a variety of strategies to engage ELs. (4) Observe and gather data to inform instruction. (5) Use language supports strategically to engage and challenge English learners. (6) Continuously reflect to refine how ELs are taught.

Title III Consortium members will receive a $250 stipend for attending all 3 Zoom sessions and completing all assignments. Note: Subject to change based on available funds.
1 Graduate Level Credit Hour is available through Hastings College. If taking for college credit there will be an additional fee of $220 to cover the credit hour (subject to change).
Cancellations not received 2 business days in advance will be billed the workshop fee.
Registration Deadline: January 4 is the last day to register, due to book ordering and book delivery.
