Description

This two day workshop will cover basic system administration tasks for a Windows Server 2012 domain administrator using Active Directory services.

Topics to be covered include:
- Using HyperV to create and manage Virtual Machines

- Introduction to Active Directory Services in a Windows 2012 domain  environment

- Implementing DNS to Support Active Directory

- Setting up DHCP services to support Active Directory

- Creating and configuring a Windows Domain

- Designing a Physical Infrastructure

- Designing a Logical Infrastructure

- Managing LDAP objects and attributes

- Setting Up and Administering Users and Groups

- Managing Computers/Workstations in a Windows Domain

- Sharing and Publishing Resources in a Windows Domain

- Distributed File Service (DFS) features and fault tolerance

- Using PowerShell to manage Active Directory - Overview

- Active Directory synchronization to other applications (e.g. GAFE)

- Active Directory synchronization from other applications (e.g. PowerSchool)

- Active Directory authentication from other applications (e.g. Overdrive)
