DescriptionSince the last annual training, the federal departments primarily responsible for Title IX enforcement have started to interpret and enforce Title IX in some surprising ways. While regular training for Title IX Coordinators is always important, any training which came before the Trump administration's moves is now outdated. Title IX Coordinators are responsible for their institutions’ compliance efforts on sex discrimination (including discrimination against students based on their gender identity), sexual harassment, retaliation, sexual assault (both on and off campus), athletics equity and related civil rights investigations. Now, they're responsible for becoming familiar with the new interpretations and reversions back to prior interpretations (such as in the area of transgender students after the "guidance" was withdrawn).

Karen Haase and Tim Malm will lead this fast-paced and practical training, which will include issues your board should consider as it reviews its policies on sex harassment and sex discrimination. The materials will also provide a checklist of action steps to help school administrators work to respond to allegations of bullying and harassment from schools, including victim follow-up and disclosure of investigation results and district actions.
