DescriptionSAVE THE DATE! You will receive further instructions necessary for participating via email no later than December 1.

Nebraska recently adopted the ACT for the Grade 11 state-wide assessment. This two-day workshop will give students an opportunity to experience the writing test and receive feedback as well as provide training and experience with the ACT rubric for teachers.

Each scorer may bring up to 30 student writing samples. If you would like to bring more than 30 samples, please sign up an additional scorer. If you plan to bring both TDA and ACT samples, sign up ONLY for the workshop (TDA or ACT) that you plan to score. Note: If you choose ACT Grade 11 scoring, you will need to attend both days of the workshop.

Analytical scoring is designed to provide teachers, students, parents, and districts with disaggregated information regarding writing strengths and areas for improvement. Each student paper will be assessed using the ACT rubric. Data gathered from this workshop will assist with identifying instructional focus and student practice necessary to increase performance on the state-wide ACT Test. Past participants in analytical scoring workshops have found the professional conversations and results from this process very valuable in supporting instruction in the classroom.
