This in-service, via Life-Size cart, will provide an overview of how to plan social skills instruction for students on the autism spectrum. Participants will be able to look through a variety of resources and curriculums created to teach social skills to individuals on the spectrum. Time will be allotted throughout the workshop for teams to begin planning social skills instruction.

Workshop Objectives:
• Review informal social assessments, social skills curriculums and resources
• Understand the difference between teaching social skills and theory of mind skills
• Explore key components of a strong social skills program
• Discuss and share information about when and where to teach social skills during the school day

AudienceAudience: It is recommended that districts send teams consisting of two or more of the following: resource teacher, SLPs, counselor, school psychologist, parents, and other professionals working with students with High Function Autism or Asperger Syndrome.
