DescriptionIn this workshop, school teams will conduct a self-assessment and have an opportunity to develop an action plan for their program, using a case study to identify curriculum needs in order to better meet the needs of students with developmental disabilities, School teams consisting of supervisors, administrators, certified teaching staff, para-educators, and support staff are encouraged to attend this one-day workshop.

Presenter, Patty Galbraith began working with people with developmental disabilities in 1970 at Bethphage Mission (now Mosaic) in Axtell, Nebraska. Since earning a BA and an MA in Mental Retardation, she has been a classroom teacher, vocational coordinator, and community-based instruction coordinator for Grand Island Schools, working with students with developmental disabilities from elementary age through age 21.  Patty has developed curriculum, trained staff, served as a consultant in designing individualized programs, helped students manage their behavior, set up community training and been an advocate for students and their families. Since retiring in May 2008, Patty has served as a consultant/speaker for school districts throughout Nebraska,
and is celebrating the gift of time.
