Description

Understanding numbers and developing computational fluency are major goals of grades 3-6 math. Join
Sue O’Connell to explore practical strategies for building your students understanding of fractions, as
well as building their computational fluency with fractions and whole numbers.
We will…
…explore models that make fraction concepts understandable.
…discover strategies to help students comprehend and solve word problems with whole numbers and
fractions.
…identify critical questions and engaging tasks that get students thinking and talking about numbers.
…play interactive math games that strengthen students’ skills at multiplication and division and can be
used as partner tasks or at math centers.
