Comments | | The training targets school counselors, teachers, and administrators engaged in the career exploration and education planning activities at the local school. NebraskaCareerConnections.org is a part of an initiative designed to integrate the information and resources from several state and federal agencies around a common framework of Career Fields and Clusters. The first segment of the portal focuses on grades 7-12 and is ready for use by schools, counselors, teachers, parents, and students. This online resource provides an opportunity to explore careers, education and training opportunities, occupations, and other areas to assist the personal learning plan process. A portfolio is also available within the system and includes a personal learning plan template, interest inventories, resume templates, and other resources to support the student's exploration process The NebraskaCareerConnections.org resource will continue to expand in an effort to meet the needs of Nebraskans by connecting education, career, workforce development, and other resources effectively. Additional segments for postsecondary education, workforce development, and economic development are currently in progress The morning session will be a 'beginners/first timers' format for becoming familiar with the site. The afternoon session will be for setting up the administrative database or a 'working session' for those who want more help navigating and investigating the site. Please bring a wireless laptop computer if you have one available. |
