| Description | | Join us for national presenter, Dr. Kristin Anderson’s presentation on leadership well-being. When compared to the general population, educational leaders experience lower levels of general wellbeing and more severe consequences of a lack of overall wellness including increased levels of stress and burnout. The wellbeing of district and school leaders is as imperative as the overall flourishing of those for whom they are responsible in the system (educators and students). Emotionally well leaders generate systems and espouse practices that foster the wellness of their stakeholders. This session will highlight and build upon research on what contributes to, and what takes away from, the emotional wellness of educational leaders, and provide strategies to increase one’s overall flourishing and diminish languishing.
Participants will be able to: understand that one's wellbeing is complex and cannot be tended to properly with surface activities, know that wellbeing spans across eight domains, understand what emotional wellbeing is and why it's important, articulate the components necessary for emotional flourishing in the workplace, determine practical strategies for increasing their ability to flourish within their roles, and learn how to create emotionally well environments for their faculty and staff.
