Literacy coaches serve a critical role in supporting teachers by providing job-embedded professional development. Join us for this five-day training series based on literacy coaching modules that have been adapted by The Florida Center for Reading Research.
Whether you are a literacy coach, principal, or teacher leader, you will learn the necessary components, along with the essential knowledge and skills, to become successful literacy leaders and contribute to the improvement of reading instruction and student achievement.
Participants Will:

Apply principles and practices that foster a positive school culture

Apply effective methods and practices for coaching both students and adult learners

Collect data on instructional practices to inform professional learning

Plan, implement, and analyze literacy instruction based on the science of reading

Reflect, plan, and implement literacy coaching

Prerequisites | | Prerequisites: K-3 administrators or educators that lead literacy instruction and/or coaching in their schools AND have participated in Science of Reading Professional Learning |
Audience | | Audience: K-3 administrators or educators that lead literacy instruction and/or coaching in their schools. This includes any who influence ELA instruction including, but not limited to: Principals Literacy Coaches Classroom Teachers Interventionists |

ESU 10 / Region 4 participants will receive $250 contracted services pay per day for attending August 7 and 8, 2025. School districts will receive $150 substitute reimbursement pay for all qualifying teachers who attend the October and January training.
Note: Subject to change based on available funds.
Registration deadline is one week prior to workshop. Cancellations not received 2 business days in advance will be billed the workshop fee.
Participants will be billed after the first day of the training series.
