Description

The New Teacher Academy is designed to help prepare and  support new teachers through their first year in the classroom.  This workshop series is based on the new Nebraska Teacher Performance Standards.

Day 1 will focus on creating a quality learning environment through set up, relationships and classroom management.

Day 2 will include mentors as well as we look at professionalism, planning, and purposeful reflection.

Days 3 and 4 will be organized around grade level and content area learning communities and will address hot topics for these times of year including disillusionment, discipline, reflection and specific content area needs or questions. Participants will register for Day 3 and Day 4 on ODIE during the workshop on July 26.

CommentsPerkins Consortium members will receive $100.00 substitute reimbursement for each CTE teacher participating in the project. Perkins Consortium schools will also receive round-trip mileage for one vehicle when at least one CTE teacher participates.

ESU 10 Title II-A teachers will receive $125.00 contracted services pay for July 26-27, 2021. ESU 10 Title II-A schools will receive $125.00 substitute reimbursement per day for the other two days of the Academy. 

Cost includes registration for Day 3 and Day 4; no additional charge will be assigned for those dates.
