Description | | Rooted in Kelly Gallagher’s Write Like This, this workshop will focus on real-world writing strategies including analyzing mentor texts and utilizing digital tools. Write Like This is built around a central premise: if students are to grow as writers, they need to read good writing, they need to study good writing, and, most important, they need to emulate good writers. In addition to learning the value of mentor texts and modeling, participants will discover how G-Suite, Chrome extensions, and other free online tools can be used throughout the stages of the Writing Process. Research and cite with open source applications. Plan with interactive drawing and organizational tools. Draft, revise, and edit while collaborating via Google docs and Add-on editors. Finally, publish for authentic audiences! |
