DescriptionCome to the ESU 10 training session on July 29 or 30, 2010, to learn about "Treasures Reading" program and innovative ideas for its implementation.

July 29 - K-2 teachers
July 30 - 3-6 teachers and 2nd grade teachers may also attend


Margaret Trauernicht will present the best teaching practices to ensure mastery of the five areas of literacy in the National Reading Panel: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Ideas will be shared on classroom management, including whole class and small group instruction, as well as appropriate use of leveled readers.

There will be an emphasis on authentic assessment and how to most effectively use the results. Many hands-on activities and opportunities o share successes and frustrations using Treasures will be included. Though reading is the main topic, any questions regarding writing, spelling, grammar, etc. will be addressed.

You will need to bring Treasures teacher's edition and any ancillary materials about which you have questions. Learn many strategies to become a master teacher of reading as well as gaining a comfort level of expertise is using Treasures Reading.
