This workshop will include:
*An overview of the characteristics of young children with autism
*ABA principles and teaching strategies
*Functional receptive communication skills such as responding to delay/denial of a reinforcer, "wait" or "no", transitioning between activities (reinforcer vs. activity), following directions, and following a schedule
*Functional expressive communication skills such as requesting reinforcers using a picture exchange communication system (PECS), requesting assistance, requesting break, rejecting and affirming. |
