| Description | | “I have given up making reading assignments. Students either don’t read the assignment, they read it and can’t remember what they read, or they don’t seem to understand the important information from what they have read. It’s easier to just cover the information in class instead of asking students to read it.”
Sound familiar? Frustration with students’ inability to use reading to learn is all too common. Students need the opportunity to become strategic readers so they will be able to process and apply information they have read. The reading tools and technology provided in this workshop will help students develop the critical skills needed to become competent, strategic readers. Once students learn how to use and apply the tools, they will begin to use them independently as they encounter a variety of texts. |
