| Description | | Students participating in the 2020 Vision and Technology Leadership Forum will take part in the Keynote sessions and lunch in addition to a morning and afternoon educational session.
There will be three educational sessions conducted by Dr. Tim Obermier and Dr. Ron Tuttle featuring:
• an in-depth overview of current Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology through the newly implemented Frontier VoIP Laboratory recently donated by Frontier Communications to the Telecommunications Management program at UNK. The purpose of this session is to demonstrate how VoIP is implemented in data networks and how it operates on the network. This session will provide the opportunity for students to experience VoIP in a hands-on environment.
• Nortel will feature a new multimedia server designed to facilitate more media rich content via the web. This session will lend insight to the future of data networks.
• Students will be provided with an overview of the opportunities that are available in telecommunications to students in Nebraska and what students need to do in order to obtain one of these new exciting positions.
Students in the Telecommunications Management program at UNK will serve as hosts to the participating high
school or middle school students. |
