DescriptionFunctional Behavior Assessment: Unlocking the Secrets of Behavior Assessment and Intervention

Functional Behavior Assessment is an evidenced based practice that educators should use prior to intervening with students who demonstrate high support needs in the area of behavior. Although it is not often required under NE Rule 51, it is considered best practice and a legally defensible step in the behavior intervention process.  In this training participants will analyze FBAs and Behavior Intervention Plans to determine critical elements within the process. Participants will also be introduced to current and ongoing research in the field of behavior analysis and learn how to align new research into their current practices.

Utilizing the individualized intensive supports covered in this training could be a NeMTSS Tier 3 intervention. For more information on NeMTSS visit https://nemtss.unl.edu/about/.

This is an advanced course. Background knowledge on the basics of behavior intervention is recommended. Participants will be asked to bring a copy of a current or recent FBA/BIP.

Registration deadline is February 15, 2023 prior or when registration is at capacity.
