DescriptionThis one day training will address supporting young children with Autism in the home, school and community settings.

Topics include:
-Social communication characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
-Motivational strategies
-Joint attention
-Supports in the environment
-Scaffolded instruction
-Peer modeling and mediation

At the end of the day, participants will have access to a virtual ‘tool box’ of resources to help them implement the strategies presented.

PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:
-Milestones in social communication development
-Interventions to support development in social skills
-Interventions to support development in communication
-How to incorporate these interventions into the natural occupation of play
