Are you ready to explore the new 2021 ELA Standards? Come join us as we dive in and explore what the newly approved standards mean for your classroom and curriculum.

NDE (Nebraska Department of Education) is organizing tools and resources to launch the 2021 ELA standards to its educators through ESUs by partnering with Rivet Education through four planned sessions, including the topics: The Standards in Instruction, The 2021 Standards and Shifts, The Standards and Materials, and Planning to Implement. The sessions from NDE/Rivet are to be released to ESUs in separate installments starting in November.

ESU 10 is planning to package the four sessions and launch them to our teachers in two trainings. This workshop is the first of two trainings and will cover these sessions: The Standards in Instruction and The 2021 Standards and Shifts. NDE has advised that schools should WAIT to fully adopt and implement the standards until they have received these trainings as the standards are designed to be packaged instead of "unpacked." As we introduce these new standards, we want to ensure we are implementing high quality instructional materials as well as evidence-based instructional practices.

The second ESU 10 workshop is planned to cover the last two sessions: The Standards and Materials and Planning to Implement. These sessions will be released to ESUs in late December. ESU 10 will host our second workshop, titled Exploring the 2021 ELA Standards Part 2, on January 27. You can register here for the second ESU 10 workshop.
