DescriptionBring your school leadership team for two days of professional learning focused around system design and school success.  Time will be provided throughout the two day experience for school leadership team reflection, prioritization, and planning.  Content for this two-day series includes:
Day 1: Building Leadership Capacity to Support Social-Emotional Learning - Keeth Matheny
R. Keeth Matheny, M.S., is a model teacher, national trainer, and the 2015 recipient of the National Dropout Prevention Center’s Crystal Star Award for Excellence in supporting student success. He is the co-author of School-Connect, a highly acclaimed research and evidence based Social and Emotional Learning curriculum. He is also the driving force behind Austin ISD’s  innovative SEL freshman seminar course, MAPS (Methods for Academic and Personal Success), which has helped reduce freshman failures by 41% and discipline referrals by 71% at Austin High School over a four-year period. The class has spread to many other schools with repeated success. Keeth is a frequent public speaker and keynote on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), student engagement, and relationship support for educators. He has presented at two U.S. Capitol Hill briefings in Washington DC and over twelve national education conferences. His work has been featured in national webinars, magazine articles, and journals of best practices.

Morning: Building Leadership Capacity to Support Personal & AuthenticLearning Experiences That Impact a Lifetime - Tom Murray
Tom serves as the Director of Innovation for Future Ready Schools®, a project of the Alliance for Excellent Education, located in Washington, D.C. He has testified before the United States Congress and has worked alongside that body, the US Senate, the White House, the US Department of Education and state departments of education, corporations, and school districts throughout the country to implement student-centered learning while helping to lead Future Ready Schools® and Digital Learning Day. An ASCD best-selling author, Murray serves as a regular conference keynote, was named the "2018 National/Global EdTech Leader of the Year," by EdTech Digest, the "2017 Education Thought Leader of the Year," one of "20 to Watch" by NSBA in 2016, and the "Education Policy Person of the Year" by the Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2015. His best-selling book, Learning Transformed: 8 Keys to Designing Tomorrow’s Schools, Today, co-authored with Eric Sheninger and published by ASCD, was released in June 2017. His most recent book, Personal & Authentic: Designing Learning Experiences that Impact a Lifetime, was released in October of 2019.

Afternoon: Breakout Sessions Aligned to AQuESTT
School leadership teams will have the choice in breakout sessions related to the six tenets of AQuESTT.  All sessions will be linked to elements that will support leaders in designing and planning to achieve school success.
