| Description | | REWARDS PLUS—Reading Strategies Applied to Social Studies Passages and Reading Strategies Applied to Science Passages is for middle and high school struggling readers. REWARDS PLUS expands on the strategies introduced in the original REWARDS program. It gives students additional practice to “cement” the skill of decoding long words, to build fluency, to increase transfer to content area reading, and to move secondary students closer to grade level.
Teachers will learn specific strategies to help students
• read more multisyllabic words
• expand vocabulary
• read content-area chapters accurately and fluently
• experience increased comprehension
• write coherent single-paragraph and multi-paragraph answers
• have more confidence in their reading and writing abilities |
