DescriptionSection Image

Participants who teach grades 3-12 will work toward enhancing instruction to support Tier 1 grade-level learning.  During this 3-day workshop, we will analyze the rigor of grade-level standards and explore curriculum-planning resources. By exploring the standards for their grade-level and content area, participants will internalize the conditions for success they set for all students within their curriculum.

In this course you will learn:

  • a deeper understanding of grade-level standards and curriculum

  • how to strengthen your current practices by evaluating for rigor based on students' developmental and grade-level needs

  • the four core resources from The Opportunity Myth needed to strengthen student learning

  • how to develop just-in-time supports to meet student needs

  • how to internalize the conditions for success you set for all students within your curriculum

Participants who took this course summer are welcome to take it again, but it will not be able to be taken for college credit, and much of the content will be similar.

For those taking it for college credit, an optional work time will be provided from 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. and from 4:00 - 4:30 p.m.

To register for 2 credit hours at Hastings College, visit https://go.hastings.edu/portal/gradworkshops and select ED 588 EIT1: Enhancing Instruction to Support Tier 1 Grade Level Learning (2 credit hours).
